University Outreach and Engagement Recognition Awards
On behalf of The Ohio State University, the offices of Outreach and Engagement, International Affairs, Undergraduate Education, and the Service-Learning Initiative recognize faculty, staff and students for outstanding achievement with the University Outreach and Engagement Recognition Awards program. The overall top partnership, which receieves the University Outreach and Engagement Award, serves as the universityÕs nominee for the national C. Peter Magrath University Community Engagement Award.

University awards are given annually to the top partnerships in the International Engagement, Community Engagement and Service-Learning categories. Below you will find more detailed information about the awards for each category. From the nominations, the top partnership will be selected to be submitted by President Gee and Provost Alutto for the regional Outreach Scholarship W.K. Kellogg Foundation Engagement Award. The regional winners will then compete for the national C. Peter Magrath Community Engagement Award.
Award winners are recognized at the annual James F. Patterson Land-Grant University Lecture, showcased in news stories throughout the year and featured on this web site.

The top nominated Outreach and Engagement partnership from across the university will serve as Ohio StateÕs nominee for the regional Kellogg Award and national Magrath Award.

Regional Awards
The Engagement Scholarship Consortium recognizes regional winners of the Outreach Scholarship W.K. Kellogg Foundation Engagement Award at the National Outreach Scholarship Conference every October. Regional winners receive $5,000 and are considered for the national award. Each university may submit one nominee for the regional award.
Ohio State's Comprehensive Approach to Urban Revitalization was selected as the 2008 North Central Region Winner.

National Award
The C. Peter Magrath University/Community Engagement Award is a national award that recognizes outstanding outreach and engagement partnerships between universities and community partners. It is presented by the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU) at the annual meeting in November. National award winners receive a cash prize of $20,000.
