Outreach and Engagement Awards
2010 Call for Nominations—Deadline: December 18, 2009
The Office of Outreach and Engagement invites nominations of partnerships for the 2010 Outreach Scholarship W.K. Kellogg Foundation Engagement Award. Two of these projects will be submitted for the regional award, and regional winners will be considered for the national C. Peter Magrath University Community Engagement Award.
Partnerships that are led by faculty (individual or small team) or those that are led by a college or vice presidential unit are encouraged to apply. The partnership may have a long history of engaging the university and community, or it may be a relatively new collaboration that is having an impact on the university and community partners.
The projects submitted should exemplify an outreach and engagement project that is a meaningful and mutually beneficial collaboration with partner(s) outside the academic community. This may include partners such as those in education, business, and public and social service. It should exemplify how our teaching, research, and/or service are benefiting the community.
To apply, submit a 500-word abstract that summarizes the engagement partnership. The summary should include:
- overview of the engagement partnership (goals, accomplishments)
- scope of partners involved and impacts on the partners (including community and university)
- evolution and duration of the engagement work
Applicants are also encouraged to submit photos that help tell the story in their applications. Send photos to Sandra Kerka (e-mail link >). The partnership selected as Ohio State’s nominee for the regional award will be asked to complete the full application by March 8, 2010.
To nominate a partnership, submit a 500-word abstract by December 18, 2009 online.
